ZIA Network is a New York based independent nongovernmental organization that supports freedom in Zimbabwe and the world in general. ZIA Network believes freedom is possible only in democratic political systems in which governments are accountable to their own people; the rule of law prevails; and freedoms of expression, association, and belief, as well as respect for the rights of minorities and women, are guaranteed.
ZIA Network functions as a vehicle for freedom, democracy and the rule of law through its advocacy and action. We believe that sustained freedom ultimately depends on the actions of committed and courageous citizens. As a non-violent civic initiative that targets societies where freedom has been denied and remains under threat, we fiercely stand opposed to ideas and forces that challenge the right of all people to be free. The organization focuses on three priorities: the Humanitarian, Governance and Education to empower people to exercise their right to choose.
Our Mission:
- We mobilize resources to respond to political and humanitarian catastrophes the people of Zimbabwe have endured in recent years.
- We aim to influence public policy in and about Zimbabwe.
- We seek to inspire and educate current and future generations to engage in rebuilding their country and secure democratic values.
- We will promote, protect and defend the rights of Zimbabweans wherever they may be.
- The man-made disaster in Zimbabwe is too huge to ignore. ZIA Network provides citizens and friends of Zimbabwe with a platform for intervention, regardless of scale.
