What is ZIA Network? E-mail Print PDF

ZIA Network is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization, with its own board. Its mandate is to help establish and promote democratic practices in Zimbabwe, promote and protect human rights, promote international cooperation and make Zimbabwe more secure.

Having grown from a small group of patriotic Zimbabwean citizens living in the United States, ZIA Network is a membership-based grassroots movement with an ambition to become the most important organization affecting western nations’ relationship with Zimbabwe.

For more than two decades, since Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980, Zimbabwe’s foreign policy and those of other nations towards it have been shaped by a tiny few. Following an era littered with one disaster after another, people of Zimbabwean descent have come together to help shape and control the destiny of their country by influencing policies that affect their future.

ZIA Network works to secure vital foreign aid to help ensure Zimbabwe recovers from the political and economic crisis the country is undergoing. It is working to promote strategic cooperation between western nations and this Southern African nation.

ZIA Network also actively educates and works with policymakers whose decisions affect Zimbabwe's future. It keeps political leaders and citizen activists apprised of critical developments affecting the Zimbabwe political and humanitarian landscape through publications such as the ZimReport and continually updated news and analysis.
